I have lived near dippers all my life and every year I worry how they will survive the winter. This one I sketched in Lathkill Dale, Derbyshire. I never used the sketch because when I think of a dipper, I always see a brilliant white breast on a dark brown bird sitting on a small stone in a fast-flowing river. Sculpting fast flowing water in bronze is not easy, but I did my best.
